At WGM Group, our values shape the way we plan, design, and deliver solutions across Montana. Six principles – Community, Environment, Integrity, Collaboration, Quality, and People – guide every project, every partnership, and every interaction.
We’re not just engineers, planners, and designers – we’re neighbors, advocates, and stewards of the places we call home.
Community
WGM was built on community connection, and that foundation still drives us. We design with intention, always considering how our work will impact the people and places around us. From rural trailheads to urban corridors to our region’s schools and institutions, our projects are rooted in local values and aimed at long-term benefit.
We also give back through volunteering, board service, and partnerships with local organizations like the Flathead Food Bank, the Gallatin Watershed Council, and United Way of Missoula County.
Environment
We know our quality of life depends on the open spaces that surround us, and the clean air and water that sustain us. We prioritize protecting these shared resources by designing resilient infrastructure, integrating green practices, and working to restore and sustain natural systems. From water-wise design and sustainable commuting to wildlife-friendly planning, we embed environmental stewardship in everything we do.
We’re proud to partner with conservation-focused organizations like the Bitter Root Water Forum and Trout Unlimited to protect Montana’s waters and wildlife.
Integrity
For us, integrity means doing what’s right – even when it’s not easy, convenient, or popular. We hold ourselves to a high standard of care, navigating regulatory and technical processes with transparency and professionalism, even in the face of pressure or pushback.
That means we won’t reverse-engineer data to fit a preferred outcome, bend numbers, or cut corners. Our role is to analyze with accuracy, apply sound engineering judgment, and develop solutions rooted in truth – not convenience. Taking the high road may be the harder path, but it’s the only one we take.
Collaboration
Complex problems require collaborative thinking. We believe the best outcomes come from working together – across disciplines, departments, and communities. Whether we’re teaming up with local governments, nonprofits, or neighborhood councils, we value every voice at the table.
Our successful partnerships with groups like the Montana Department of Transportation, Missoula County, and grassroots organizations are proof of what collaboration can achieve.
Quality
Excellence is built into our process – from early planning to final inspection. We prioritize durability, sustainability, and craftsmanship in every deliverable. Our multi-disciplinary teams hold each other to high standards because our clients and communities deserve nothing less.
Our LEED and SITES accredited professionals are constantly pushing for better, smarter, and more future-ready solutions.
People
Our people are at the heart of WGM. We invest in their growth, support their well-being, and champion a culture of respect and balance. That same commitment extends to the communities we serve – we design for safety, accessibility, and quality of life.
From flexible work options and commuter reimbursements to mentorship and leadership opportunities, we ensure our team members are empowered to thrive.
Living Our Values
We don’t just talk about our values – we live them. Here are just a few examples:
Shaping neighborhoods we’d want to live in
Designing infrastructure that supports sustainable transportation
Planning for climate resiliency and ecological health
Using recycled and responsibly sourced materials
Supporting community events like River City Roots Festival
Partnering with agencies like Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and the Northern Plains Resource Council
