PUBLIC SANITARY SEWER SYSTEMS REDUCE CONTAMINATION of surface and groundwater. While often an unnoticed component of a community’s infrastructure, a properly functioning public sewer system will greatly increase the amount of nutrients, bacteria and other pollutants that reach groundwater and surface water. Too many nutrients can contaminate drinking water and lead to excessive algae growth in surface waters, fouling our rivers, lakes and streams and negatively impacting fish and other aquatic life. WGM Group works with communities to help address their public sewer needs. We have experience in capital facility planning, obtaining funding, implementing improvement plans, design and construction administration. In addition to traditional septic systems, drainfields and treatment lagoons, WGM Group is at the forefront of wastewater treatment technology. Several of our recent projects propose the use of a Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) for wastewater treatment. This technology allows treated wastewater to be directly re-used for irrigation of parks, open space, recreation facilities, and ponds, as well as, aquifer recharge through infiltration galleries. WGM Group provides a wide range of wastewater services, with the ability to meet our client’s needs from planning to completed construction.
