ACQUIRING RIGHTS-OF-WAY FOR PUBLIC AND PRIVATE INFRASTRUCTURE projects requires a blend of design, appraisal, legal and interpersonal skills. WGM Group understands how to effectively manage the complexities of a right-of-way process. We have assembled a team of experienced appraisors and negotiators who work closely with our designers to successfully acquire right-of-way.
WGM Group provides right-of-way plans, route descriptions, deeds, exhibits, surveying and retracement. We have extensive knowledge and experience with right-of-way policy, procedures and design, including the Uniform Act for Relocation Assistance.
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) selected WGM Group to provide right-of-way services for the US Highway 93 Hamilton to Victor project totaling approximately 35 miles and comprising more than 280 ownerships. WGM Group completed appraisals, negotiations, utility identification and relocation, and prepared deeds and exhibits for this project with an estimated right-of-way cost over $8 million.
Other recent projects include the Brooks/South/Russell Intersection project with more than 34 ownerships and a right-of-way cost of $1 million; the $1 million MDT Junction MT 85 East project near Bozeman with more than 100 ownerships; and the $10 million Wye Area Sanitary Sewer RSID 8489 project with over 170 ownerships and 35 easements.
Most recently the Missoula Department of Parks and Recreation awarded WGM Group the Trails Right-of-Way project, which includes working with residential and business landowners for the acquisition of parcels to extend Missoula’s bicycle and pedestrian trail system.
