Riverfront Triangle

The Riverfront Triangle represents an important area on the western edge of Missoula’s downtown. Having been home to a variety of uses and structures over the years, it was in need of a new vision. The community sought to attract new and anchoring development to the area.

WGM Group served as the local representative for civil engineering and transportation issues related to master plan services for the redevelopment of the 9.5 acre Riverfront Triangle site. The creation of the Master Plan was a team effort involving Missoula Redevelopment Agency, Design Workshop, Oz Architects, and WGM Group.

WGM Group gathered site information from project archives and other sources, including mapping, aerial photos, utilities, soils information, floodplain information, and relevant traffic data to determine existing site conditions. WGM Group provided a detaiiled evaluation of these conditions and prepared right-of-way studies, along with several base maps for use in the study.

In addition, WGM Group participated in public involvement and landowner meetings, public open houses, and workshops for the development of the Master Plan, providing input related to site and traffic issues.

The Riverfront Triangle aims to be home to a performing arts center, a signature hotel, and mixed use development, all valuable components to add to Missoula’s downtown.
