WGM Group worked with the Northwest Passage Scenic Byway Advisory Team on behalf of the North Central Idaho Travel Association to study the corridor of US Highways 12 and 13, known as the Northwest Passage Scenic Byway (NWPSB). With the National Scenic Byway and All-American Road designations, five communities in North Central Idaho – Lewiston, Orofino, Kamiah, Kooskia and Grangeville – sought ways to maintain the scenic quality of the region while simultaneously enhancing economic opportunities and attracting visitors.
WGM Group engaged a broad spectrum of stakeholder groups in the area to solicit input relative to desirable and undesirable changes occurring along the Byway. CommunityViz software in concert with ArcGIS was used to prepare 3D alternative scenarios for each of the communities to assist stakeholders in the visualization process.
