planning, infrastructure planning and
implementation, and in all areas of land
development. Looking forward to the next 40 years,
WGM Group has prepared this overview of what the
future holds for Missoula. The purpose of this
document is to review land resources for future
growth; to identify major, large land areas in
Missoula and the surrounding areas that may be
available for well-planned development; to quantify
the ability of those lands to meet the anticipated,
future, residential growth demands in the area; and
to review the current growth plan for the Missoula
area. This document should not be used as a landplanning
document, but simply as a sample
overview of Missoula’s ability to meet future
residential growth demands. It is not our intent to
answer questions or make recommendations about
individual parcels of land or assume that all
available parcels have been identified.
